Natural Appetite control has never been easier

How many of us can claim a perfect weight? Yet it isn’t only vanity that sends us on diet after diet. Obesity now affects at least one in four adults. Quite apart from the loss of self-esteem, excess weight can trigger diabetes (type 2) and raise our risk for high blood pressure, heart disease and osteoarthritis. Some experts even say it will soon be more dangerous to be overweight than to be a smoker!

So what can we do to end crash dieting? A good level of exercise, of course, is vital, as is a balanced diet. But now, the discovery of an ancient African secret may offer the solution we’ve all been waiting for.
The story begins in the Kalahari Desert, where the San Bushmen have lived for at least 27,000 years (based on the oldest known rock paintings found there) and perhaps for much longer than that. The Bushmen’s phenomenal skill in tracking prey, and exploiting the scarcest of resources, has given them the ability to survive where we would quickly perish. When the men go hunting, naked except for a loincloth, a bow and poisoned arrows, it can take days of walking before they capture prey. During that time they eat almost nothing! So how do they survive on minimal food, yet manage to exert such huge amounts of energy?

Hoodia used by thousands of generations
This is the Bushmen’s secret - while out on the hunt, the San chew on Hoodia gordonii, a succulent that grows widely in the desert, and this plant suppresses their appetite and actually gives them energy. In a recent New York Times article, a Bushman tracker was quoted as saying that Hoodia, in addition to staving off their hunger, would give them enough energy to walk all day and make love all night! It also cured a hangover or settled an upset stomach.

Hoodia - a key to weight loss?
Here at HealthRight we set our researchers to investigate. In the first place, the Bushmen’s long history of use gives assurance of Hoodia’s safety. There has also been scientific research. The South Africa’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) have patented Hoodia’s appetite-suppressing properties. In 1997 South Africa’s CSIR signed a licensing agreement with a British pharmaceutical company, Phytopharm, which subsequently sold the rights to Pfizer. Pfizer has reputedly spent about $400 million on the development of the active ingredient in Hoodia, P57, as an anti-obesity drug, or as an ingredient for weight-control snacks.
In one study of this drug, a group of 60 overweight individuals took Hoodia’s P57 or dummy tablets. Taking P57 tablets twice a day was reported to have a dramatic effect on their food intake. After 15 days, the P57 group had achieved a 30% reduction in calorie intake and a reduction in body fat of 1kg (2.2lb). Richard Dixey, CEO of Phytopharm, believes that P57 acts on the brain’s hypothalamus, tricking it into thinking that the person’s stomach is full. The brain’s message to the body is: “You’re not hungry—stop eating.”

HOW TO USE HOODIA

Hoodia can be used in combination with any diet (e.g. the Atkins Diet), or simply taken as part of your normal eating pattern. Simply suck one or two Hoodia Mints slowly, an hour before a meal, or in place of a snack, and you will naturally eat less. Over time, you will lose weight.

Maintenance
Once you have achieved your perfect weight you can use Hoodia to maintain that weight. For example, take it before meeting friends when you might be tempted to overeat, or before parties.

DO

  • Always eat healthy balanced meals

  • Eat plenty of fresh vegetables

  • Take a complete multinutrient formula

  • Drink 1-2 litres of water a day

DO NOT

  • Skip meals

  • Snack
But drugs take many years to come to market, and the principal of using the whole herb, rather than a single ingredient, such as P57, is more natural. Nature designed all the molecules in Hoodia to work together and it’s the whole plant that the Bushmen have always used. That’s why, here at HealthRight, we’re supplying a concentrated extract of the whole plant - in two convenient forms that are ideal for absorption and for optimum effect.
Hoodia Mints should be sucked slowly half an hour to an hour before eating. It’s important to suck not chew, because there is some evidence that slow absorption has a greater effect. You can even take one or two instead of a snack; after a few minutes you’ll find the desire to snack just falls away. Then Hoodia Plus tablets provide a Hoodia booster to be taken just before a meal, plus 400mg of phaseolamin, a starch blocker that will reduce your intake of calories from starchy foods. Taken as a dual programme, you will naturally reduce your calorie intake without hunger.
